Meet the San Diego Team Behind Lodgewick ADU San Diego
Every ADU, garage conversion, and home addition we build in San Diego carries a name or two with it. Not a brand name. The name of the person who framed the wall, the person who pulled the permit, the person who answered the phone at 9 p.m. when you had a question about your Abodu unit’s foundation. We’re a local crew that’s been working San Diego lots since 2010, and we operate one way: The Kingswell Way. Say the price before the work. Show up in the window given. Leave the place cleaner than found. Put the guarantee in writing. Come back if it fails. Russ Delmar, Owner, holds every one of us to that on every single job.
Our People

Mike R. – Lead Technician, Garage Conversions
Mike has spent 14 years turning underused San Diego garages into rental-ready ADUs. He’s our lead on garage conversion work, which means he’s the guy measuring slab elevations, checking for shear wall requirements, and figuring out whether that 1950s detached garage in Clairemont can actually hold a second story or if it needs to come down to the studs. Mike holds a California general building contractor credential and has completed manufacturer training with Tuff Shed and James Hardie. He keeps a spiral notebook in his truck with every San Diego job he’s worked since 2012, organized by ZIP code. Ask him about the lemon tree in the backyard of a job in Normal Heights and he’ll remember it.
Sarah T. – Senior Installer, Prefab & Panelized ADUs
Sarah leads our prefab and panelized installs, working closely with Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, and Plant Prefab units. She’s been with Lodgewick ADU San Diego for nine years and has personally overseen more than 60 prefab ADU placements across San Diego County. Sarah is certified in crane signaling and rigging, which matters when a factory-built unit has to clear a neighbor’s roofline in University Heights and land on a foundation with an eighth-inch tolerance. Before this, she framed custom homes in East County. On weekends she’s usually surfing at Tourmaline or building furniture in her garage in City Heights, which she insists is not a converted ADU. Yet.
Dave P. – Service Coordinator
Dave is the voice on the other end of (619) 376-2760 during most daylight hours, and he’s the reason a live person answers every call, 24/7, whether it’s noon or 2 a.m. He’s been coordinating ADU builds and garage conversion schedules in San Diego for seven years. Dave tracks every permit submittal, inspection date, material lead time, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise paperwork on every project. If you call asking where your James Hardie siding order stands, Dave already knows. He grew up in Chula Vista and can tell you which San Diego neighborhoods have the trickiest parking for delivery trucks without looking at a map. His desk has a sticky note from 2018 with a quote he won’t explain: “The lot slopes where the lot slopes.”
Luis M. – Apprentice Installer
Luis joined Lodgewick ADU San Diego two years ago after finishing a building trades program at San Diego City College. He works under Mike and Sarah on garage conversion framing, siding, and finish work, and he’s already earned his OSHA 30 certification. Luis is the guy who double-checks the levels and takes the extra ten minutes to make sure job-site cleanup actually meets The Kingswell Way standard before we roll out. He’s a San Diego native, born and raised in National City, and he’s saving up to build a JADU, a junior accessory dwelling unit, on his parents’ property. When we say a lodge is a small house on a larger property, Luis is living that plan.
One Standard, Every Job
The crew in San Diego operates under one name and one promise: the 365-Day Done Right Promise. It’s in writing on every single project, whether it’s a $40,000 garage conversion in Chula Vista or a $250,000 detached ADU in La Jolla. If the work isn’t right, Lodgewick comes back and makes it right, free of charge, within the guarantee period. No exceptions, no fine print, no arguing. That promise only works if the people doing the work are consistent, honest, and accountable. That’s the crew you just met. Every job gets a written price before any work starts, a defined arrival window, a clean job site, and a written guarantee delivered before the first nail goes in. Russ Delmar has one rule that sums up the whole thing: if you wouldn’t put it in writing in front of the homeowner, don’t do it on their property.
